What we collect

Only what you type into a form on this site: your name, email address, mobile number, the parcel sizes you're interested in, and anything you write in a message. If you ask for a packet, we also note which parcel it was for.

Your location (Walk It)

Walk It, the boundary finder on each parcel page, uses your phone's location only on your phone, to show where you are on the land. Your location is never sent to us or stored. The 3D map loads map pictures from OpenFreeMap, Amazon Web Services and the U.S. Geological Survey (or Esri), which see a normal web request, not your location.

The camera view (Walk It)

Walk It's camera view shows the parcel's boundary and corners over your phone's camera picture, using the camera, the compass and the motion sensors. The picture is only shown on your screen: it isn't recorded, saved or sent anywhere, and it stops when you close the camera view.

The films

Our drone films are hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Then the film streams from YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that film.

How we use it

To send you the packet you asked for, to tell you about new parcels if you joined the wake-up call list, and to answer you. That's it.

Text messages

We only text you if you checked the box agreeing to texts. Your mobile number and your agreement to receive texts are never sold, rented or shared with anyone else for their marketing. Reply STOP to any text to stop them. See the text message terms.

Who sees it

Merritt Whitman, who runs Vacant Land Syndicate. Form entries are stored in our Google Workspace account. We don't sell or rent your information. When you buy, the title & escrow company handling your purchase receives what it needs to close the sale.

Visit statistics

We may count visits to the site (which pages are viewed and how people found us) to see what's working. These counts don't include anything you type into a form.

Removing your information

Email merritt@vacantlandsyndicate.com or text 415-200-5153 and ask, and we'll take you off our lists and delete what you sent us. Every email we send also has an unsubscribe link.
